The Katsina Local Government Authority has officially sworn in its new Deputy Chairman, Hon. Usman Yusuf Saulawa, along with twelve elected councillors representing the various wards in the area. The swearing-in ceremony took place on Wednesday, 17 April 2025, at the council’s headquarters in Katsina.
The oath of office was administered by Magistrate Dr. Basira Umar, who first conducted the swearing-in of the Deputy Chairman before proceeding to administer the oath to all twelve councillors.
The event was attended by key stakeholders, including Hon. Ali Abu Albaba, member of the Katsina State House of Assembly representing Katsina constituency, officials from the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), as well as numerous supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In his remarks during the ceremony, the Executive Chairman of Katsina Local Government, Hon. Isa Miqdad Ad Saude, commended his deputy and the councillors for their commitment and perseverance throughout the election period, which culminated in their victory.
Hon. Miqdad assured residents of Katsina that the local government will soon commence people-oriented development projects aimed at improving the standard of living in the area. He further urged the newly sworn-in councillors to uphold the trust placed in them by the electorate and to deliver quality leadership in their respective wards.
